Maintenance Course: Q&A

Q: What’s the goal of the course?
A:
To teach bike owners intermediate-level maintenance skills, boosting confidence by working on your own bike.

Q: What bike requirements are there?
A:
Your bike should have hydraulic brakes, tubeless tires, and a SRAM or Shimano groupset. It should be newer than 2015. Ebikes are allowed if legal in NSW.

Q: Are tools provided?
A:
Yes, tools are provided for the course, and you can buy them afterward, along with discounted products like tires, sealant, and brake pads ect.

Q: What type of tools will be used?
A:
We use mid-range quality tools from trusted brands like Park Tool, Pedro's, SKS and many more .

Q: Do I need to bring parts?
A: It’s best to bring or purchase new consumable parts like brake pads and tires for optimal performance.

Q: How long is the course?
A:
The course runs over 4 nights within a month, covering different maintenance tasks each session. Each course is 2.5-3 hours in length. 

Q: Can I attend just one course?
A: While attending all courses is recommended for the best outcome, if you can only make one, please note that we won’t be able to revisit previous topics as it slow down the course. Please email us if you would like to attend just one course.

Q: Can my bike be older than 2015?
A:
Most likely, yes! Please email us with your bike’s exact model, and we’ll check it out. MTB and gravel tech evolves quickly, but we stay up-to-date with modern standards.

Q: Do I need prior maintenance knowledge?                                                                     A: No, the course is designed for everyone, from beginners with little knowledge to experienced workshop mechanics, with the instructor bringing over 10+ years of workshop experience.
